Splendido Aging Well Bakes! Recipe Contest
Official Rules

Submission of Entries: The Aging Well Bakes! Recipe Contest is sponsored by Mather LifeWays on behalf of Splendido. Entries can be submitted by e-mail or mail. Only one entry per e-mail address or by mail address will be allowed. No purchase necessary. All recipes become the sole and exclusive property of Mather LifeWays and will not be returned. The contest will be judged by Mather LifeWays employees, along with a panel of independent judges selected by Mather LifeWays, on the basis of taste, appearance, imagination, practicality, and appropriateness for a recipe that best characterizes how Aging Well fits with the theme. All entries will be screened by Mather LifeWays and finalists will be sent to the panel of judges who will select the winner. The judging committee consists of Mather LifeWays employees, residents of Mather LifeWays senior living residences, community members, and industry professionals. Each of these foregoing judging criteria will be weighed equally. Decisions of judges are final in all matters relating to this contest. The contest ends on the specified date at 5:00 pm CST/CDT. All mailed entries must be postmarked on or before March 27, 2009. Electronic entries are due by 5 p.m. on March 27, 2009.

Winner Notification: One winner will be notified by U.S. mail and/or e-mail 4-6 weeks after close of the contest period. Finalists’ recipes will be posted at www.splendidotucson.com and www.matherlifeways.com. Mather LifeWays will use its best efforts to publicize winners via an announcement to general media. Mather LifeWays will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays or omissions in this regard. The winner will receive notification by phone, mail and/or e-mail. At this time, the winner will be asked to sign a legal assignment, consent, and affidavit confirming the winner’s eligibility, that winner’s recipe is original, and that winner is the sole and exclusive creator and owner of all intellectual property rights in and to the recipe and related materials and is conveying all of same to Mather LifeWays. Failure to sign and return the form within the required time period (72 hours) or provision of false information may result in disqualification of the entrant and his/her recipe. An alternate winner may be selected at the sole discretion of Mather LifeWays. All affirmations are subject to verification by Mather LifeWays. Entry constitutes permission to use winner’s name, likeness and recipe for future advertising and publicity purposes without compensation.

Prizes: One First Place Winner in Arizona will receive a $500 gift certificate for Williams-Sonoma. All prizes claimed will be awarded. All prizes are non-transferable; no substitutions or cash redemptions except at the discretion of the sponsor. Taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Qualified winners will receive their prizes within 4-6 weeks after notification of winning. (Approximate retail value "ARV" of prize: $500.) First Place winner will have his/her winning recipe showcased on the Splendido and Mather LifeWays websites and be promoted in publicity efforts around the Aging Well Bakes! Recipe Contest. NO OTHER PRIZES, RIGHTS, OR BENEFITS WILL BE GIVEN!

Additional Conditions: All prizes must be awarded to entrant, who must sign an affidavit of eligibility, a full and unconditional assignment of any and all copyrights, trademark rights, and patent rights in and to submitted recipes and related materials and a full and unconditional release of all liability and publicity. The sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, or incomplete entries, or for telephone or computer malfunction or error. All prizes will be awarded and are nontransferable. No substitutions or cash redemptions are permitted except at sponsor's discretion. In the case of a tie, duplicate prizes will be awarded. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

By submitting a recipe for review under the Aging Well Bakes! Recipe Contest, entrant agrees to be bound by Mather LifeWays entry rules and regulations established herein, which may from time to time, be amended through written notification to the entrant. Mather LifeWays reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify the Aging Well Bakes! Recipe Contest at any time without prior notice, if it is determined that it is not capable of completion as planned.

Eligibility: The contest is limited to adults 55 years of age and older who are legal residents of Arizona. All entrants MUST have been born on or before March 27, 1954. All winners' shipping addresses must be located in the United States. Street addresses must be included with all P.O. Box addresses. Employees and immediate families of Mather LifeWays and its affiliated companies, its advertising and promotional agencies are not eligible. Contest void where prohibited by law. Each entrant agrees that Mather LifeWays, its affiliates and respective agents, are not responsible or liable for any representation or guarantee, implied or expressed, beyond that which is set forth herein.

Winners List: The winners’ names and hometowns will be posted on the Splendido and Mather LifeWays websites in May 2009. The list of first place winners may also be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope after May 1, 2009 to: Winner’s List, Mather LifeWays, 1603 Orrington Avenue, Suite 1800, Evanston, IL 60201.
