Tips on Older Adult Health. The Foundation for Health in Aging of the American Geriatrics Society provides free tip sheets on promoting healthy aging on topics such as mental health, safety in the home, medications and vaccines, and common aging changes. Preventing Falls Among Older Adults.The Injury Prevention Center of the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides online factsheets, prevention tips, downloadable community-health brochures and other information on preventing falls among older adults. National Osteoporosis Foundation.The website of the National Osteoporosis Foundation provides information on bone health promotion. Their steps to good bone health are simpleOsteoporosis to follow:

  1. EAT RIGHT: Get your daily recommended amounts of Calcium and Vitamin D.
  2. EXERCISE: Engage in regular weight-bearing and muscle strengthening exercise.
  3. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE: Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
  4. TALK TO YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER: Talk to your healthcare provider about bone health.
  5. GET TESTED: Have a bone density test and take medication when appropriate.
