Empower Online

An Online Course for Working Caregivers

Empower Online is an in-depth, five-lesson online course focusing on self-care for the caregiver. Developed by Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging with the support of WFD Consulting, Empower Online topics include managing the ambiguities of self-care while caring for loved ones with chronic medical issues; communicating effectively with healthcare providers and co-workers; and locating additional caregiver resources.

3. Caregiving Transitions
4. Long-Distance Caregivers
5. Caregiver Decisions

Classes available 24/7

Courses move forward at weekly intervals, encouraging discussion about new topics. Participants read course materials; engage one another on discussion boards; complete surveys; and learn via live chat sessions. Courses may include videos or recorded training sessions. Participants will need an active e-mail account and Internet access.
