Making Sense of Memory Loss Online
Developed by Mather LifeWays Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association, evidence-based Making Sense of Memory Loss Online helps family members who care for someone in the early or late stages of memory loss, whether or not that individual has received a diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease or related dementia. Families learn about:
- causes of and treatments for memory loss
- memory loss and related symptoms
- communication strategies
- making decisions
- planning for the future
- coping and caring techniques
By the end of each online course, participants will:
- increase their knowledge about the causes of memory loss and promote a case for medical evaluation
- assist in adjusting attitudes and behaviors in relation to the person with memory loss
- bolster their self-efficacy with respect to present and future care tasks
Classes can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
