The purpose of this newsletter is to provide information to neighbors regarding construction of The
Mather, which will rise on the corner of Davis and Hinman. If you have specific questions regarding

Below are details regarding how construction continues to progress.
- Concrete work for the pedestrian corridor under Davis Street is complete and the excavation has been backfilled to sub-grade (just below the finished surface of the street). Davis Street will be restored and reopened prior to July 4, 2008. The north curb lane on Davis Street between Judson Avenue and Hinman Avenue will remain closed.
- The east—west alley accessed from Judson Avenue remains narrowed to permit construction of the adjacent underground parking garage. It is scheduled to reopen at the end of 2008.
- Concrete work in the lower level, including foundations and columns, is underway. The crews providing the framework for the ground floor slab are continuing in preparation for scheduled concrete pours.
- The precast concrete erection subcontractor will mobilize on-site with a separate mobile crane and install the precast “double tees” (prefabricated concrete components) designed for the substructure that will support the garden area located on the eastern portion of the site.
- The second tower crane, to be located on the southern portion of the site, will be erected in late June. The added south tower crane will assist the existing northwest tower crane with concrete work and other construction activities.
We are working to ensure an efficient, timely process—one that maximizes safety and minimizes disruption for residents and neighbors. We will continue to provide frequent updates.
