In all of our residences, Mather LifeWays incorporates the concepts of whole-person Wellness, emphasizing personal choice, self-responsibility, optimism, and self-direction.

Wellness means striving to achieve the optimum state of health and well-being that you are capable of achieving. Click on the circles for more information.

The following are the six Ways to Age WellSM, along with examples of Mather LifeWays programs available to choose at our residences.

Physical
Living a healthy lifestyle, including participating in regular exercise, proper nutrition, and self-care.

Brain Aerobics

Learn new and fun strategies to keep your mind healthy and fit. This mental aerobics program uses humor, art, puzzles and sensory stimulation techniques to strengthen, improve and maintain the mind and memory capabilities.

Daily Exercise

A general fitness workout for strength building that features both standing and chair routines.

Meditation

Through simple and effective relaxation, meditation and self-enrichment techniques, you can learn to tap into your intuition and spiritual growth as well as control how your body responds to stress.



Intellectual
Expanding knowledge through ongoing learning opportunities, creative pursuits and stimulating discussions.

Celebrate the Arts!

Join a pottery workshop • Listen to a poetry reading • Discuss a “Best Seller” • Try a sculpting class • Enjoy a musical performance • Sketch or paint a favorite scene • Attend interesting art and music appreciation lectures • Perhaps photography interests you, dance, or maybe seasonal flower arranging

In The News

This “current events” program examines the debates and news of the day. Books, articles, and today’s newspapers, added to resident input, make for lively and informative discussions.

We’ll travel to all corners of the world, learning about interesting cultures and traditions, while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Resident’s Council & Committees

Join monthly meetings governed by and for all residents. Standing Committees include resident involvement and assistance with Food Feedback, Lending Library organization, Social Discussion group soliciting feedback and interaction among residents, and Community Outreach assistance
